What HiNoter is, and what it does well

HiNoter is an AI note taker built around one idea: any source of speech or text should become a searchable note. You can record in the app, upload an audio file, upload a video file, paste a YouTube link, or drop in a PDF and have it read with OCR. That is the main reason people pick it.

It runs in a browser at app.hinoter.com, as an app on iPhone, iPad, Android and Apple silicon Macs, and on Apple Watch. The iOS app is published by AISION PTE. LTD. and, at the time of checking, sits at a 4.8 average from 756 ratings. It records with one tap, labels speakers, stamps timestamps, and lets you type a keyword to jump straight to that moment in the audio.

Its Meet Assistant is a bot. You connect Google Calendar or Outlook, flip a toggle on the events you care about, and the bot joins those calls on Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. HiNoter is straight about the fact that a host may have to admit the bot, which is the honest way to describe how every bot-based tool works.

After a call you get structured notes with decisions and action items, an AI chat that answers questions about a note and cites the source line, and mind maps. Finished notes can sync to Notion, Slack and Google Docs, and export as PDF, DOCX or SRT subtitle files.

HiNoter pricing, in plain numbers

Prices below are taken from HiNoter's own pricing page in September 2026. The in-app prices on HiNoter's US App Store listing are different (weekly $8.99 or $9.99, and several yearly prices from $39.99 to $79.99), so check what the app shows you before you buy.

The free plan is a taster, not a tier you can live on. It gives you one note creation in total, AI chat on one note, and AI summaries on one note. Once that single credit is used, you upgrade or you stop.

Paid personal plans come in two shapes. Personal Pro Weekly is $6.99 a week. Personal Pro Yearly is $69.99 a year. The features are identical; only the billing cycle changes. The site lists no monthly plan. Teams get Team Pro, starting at $119.98 a year for two paid seats, quoted as $1.15 per member per week, which adds a shared workspace, Owner / Member / Viewer roles and central seat management.

The weekly plan is the one to watch. $6.99 a week is roughly $30 a month, and about $363 if you stay on it for a full year. It is a fine way to handle one busy month of interviews. It is an expensive way to take notes all year, and weekly billing is easy to forget about.

Why people look for a HiNoter alternative

Most of the reasons fall into four buckets. None of them are dealbreakers on their own, but together they are why this page exists.

• Bilingual meetings are the weak spot. HiNoter's own FAQ says the transcription is powered by Whisper Large V3. Whisper is a strong model, but it settles on one language for each chunk of audio rather than tagging language word by word. So in a sentence that genuinely mixes two languages, you would expect the second one to arrive spelled out phonetically in the first language's alphabet, or quietly dropped. We have not run HiNoter's output through a test, so treat this as the shape of the risk and check it on your own audio.
• The free plan is one note. You cannot really test it on a normal week before paying.
• Weekly billing adds up. $6.99 a week is the plan most people land on first, and it is the most expensive way to buy the product.
• Team pricing is per seat. The bill grows with every person you add.
• No Webex. The bot covers Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams only.
• The summary comes in one shape. Structured notes, action items and a mind map. There is no way to ask for the same recording as a formal report, or as an email you can send, or written in your own voice.

HiNoter vs Noter AI, side by side

Read that table as two lists, not one winner. HiNoter is wider at the input end: more kinds of file go in. Noter AI is deeper at the output end and steadier when the audio is messy in a specific way, which is when more than one language is being spoken.

Where HiNoter fits

HiNoter fits a few jobs Noter AI is not built for.

Video, YouTube and PDFs. HiNoter turns a video file, a YouTube link or a scanned PDF into text. Noter AI is built for meeting audio.

A browser tab. HiNoter works at app.hinoter.com with nothing installed.

Notion, Slack and Google Docs sync. HiNoter pushes a finished note into those tools and also exports SRT subtitle files. Noter AI exports to PDF, Word and plain text and copies rich text to the clipboard.

Language counts. HiNoter's pricing page and its transcription feature page both say the app handles 100+ languages and dialects for transcription. Noter AI covers 60+ languages and tags them word by word. On translating a finished note, the only place HiNoter's site names translation at all is a feature card reading "transcribe and translate across 50+ languages", and no separate list of translation languages is published anywhere on it. Noter AI publishes its list: transcripts translate into 46 languages, and the summary, analysis and action items come in the meeting's language automatically, or in the language you choose. The transcript list covers Arabic, Bengali, Bulgarian, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu and Vietnamese.

One more thing worth saying plainly. HiNoter's site publishes an accuracy figure, "95%+ accuracy in real-world conditions". Noter AI publishes no accuracy percentage, and this page will not invent one. Accuracy depends far too much on the room, the microphone and the accents in it for a single number to mean much either way. Test both on your own recording rather than trusting anyone's figure.

Where Noter AI pulls ahead: code-switching, word by word

This is the sharpest difference between the two, and it is a difference in how the underlying model works rather than a difference in marketing.

HiNoter's FAQ names its engine: Whisper Large V3. Whisper decides on a language for a stretch of audio and transcribes that stretch as that language. That is fine for a meeting held entirely in Japanese, or entirely in German. It struggles with the case where a Gulf team runs a meeting in Arabic and drops English product names, dates and job titles into every second sentence, or an Indian team moves between Hindi and English without noticing, or a Miami sales call flips between Spanish and English depending on who is talking.

In those meetings a single-language model has to make a bad choice. It either spells the English words phonetically in Arabic script, which no reader can search or quote, or it hears the Arabic as broken English and produces nonsense. Either way the summary built on top of that transcript inherits the damage, and the action items are the first thing to go, because names and deadlines are exactly the words that get switched into the other language.

Noter AI tags the language word by word instead of committing to one language per recording. A sentence that starts in Arabic and finishes in English comes back with both parts written in their own script. You never pick a language before you press record, because detection is always on. Do not take this on trust. It takes ten minutes to settle. Record two minutes of the way your team actually speaks, mixed languages and all, and run the same file through both tools. The difference shows up immediately or it does not show up at all, and either result saves you a year of paying for the wrong thing.

Where Noter AI pulls ahead: what you get after the recording

Both apps give you a transcript, speaker labels, timestamps and a summary. The gap opens after that, in what you can do with the same recording.

Six output styles from one recording. The same meeting can be rendered as formal minutes, short key bullet points, an email you can send, a to-do list, a formal report, or a custom instruction where you describe in your own words exactly how you want it written. HiNoter produces structured notes, action items and a mind map, which is one good shape. Noter AI lets you change the shape after the fact, without re-recording anything, which matters when the same client call has to go to your boss as minutes and to the client as an email.

Fixing a misheard name. Every transcription tool mishears a surname or a product name. In Noter AI you can rename speakers, edit the summary itself so the version you send out is right, or export the full transcript to Word and edit it freely.

Playback tied to every line. Noter AI keeps the recording and syncs playback to the transcript, so you tap a line and hear that exact second. HiNoter's version of this is keyword search that jumps to a moment in the audio, which is good, but it starts from a word you already remember rather than from the line you are reading.

Chat across every note, not one note. HiNoter's AI chat answers questions about a note with source references. Noter AI does that too, and also answers across your whole library at once, so you can ask what a specific client has asked for across six months of calls. Webex. Small, but if your company runs on Webex, HiNoter's bot cannot join and Noter AI's can. The bot also covers Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, so nothing is lost by having it.

The price difference over a year

For one person, the two annual plans cost the same. HiNoter Personal Pro Yearly is $69.99 a year. Noter AI is also $69.99 a year, or $9.99 a month if you prefer to pay monthly. For one person on a yearly plan, price is no reason to switch either way, so compare on the features above. One Noter AI subscription also follows you across your own devices, so your iPhone and your iPad are covered by the same $69.99.

Prices differ in two places. First, weekly billing. At $6.99 a week, staying on HiNoter's weekly plan for a year costs about $363. Noter AI's weekly plan is $5.99, about $311 over a year. On both apps the yearly plan is by far the cheaper way to pay.

Second, teams. HiNoter's Team Pro is sold per seat, quoted at $1.15 per member per week and starting at $119.98 a year for two seats. At that published rate, five people works out around $299 a year, and it keeps climbing as you hire. Noter AI has no team plan, so the comparison is one subscription per person: $69.99 per person per year, with no seat minimum and no admin tier. Five people is five subscriptions, $349.95 a year, and everyone records from their own phone on their own subscription.

Switching: what happens to your existing notes

Be realistic about this. There is no import tool between the two products, so nothing moves across on its own. What you do have is a clean way to keep the old work and start the new work in one place.

1. 1Export what you want to keep from HiNoter. Export as PDF, DOCX or SRT, or push notes out through its Notion, Slack or Google Docs sync. Do this before you cancel, while your Pro access is still live.
2. 2Keep the audio files, not just the text. If you still have the original recordings on your phone or in Files, they are the part you cannot recreate. A transcript can always be made again from audio; audio cannot be made again from a transcript.
3. 3Install Noter AI on iPhone or iPad or on Android and start the free trial.
4. 4Re-run one or two important old meetings. Share an old audio file into Noter AI from the Files app or the iOS Share sheet. This is also the fastest honest test of the language handling, because you already know what was said.
5. 5Reconnect your calendar. Google Calendar or Microsoft/Outlook, so the bot picks up your scheduled Zoom, Meet, Teams and Webex calls the same way HiNoter's did.
6. 6Set up folders and check search. Search and AI chat work across all your notes, so old imported meetings become findable alongside new ones.
7. 7Cancel HiNoter after a full week of real meetings, not before. A week is long enough to know.

Who should switch, and who should stay

Stay on HiNoter if you regularly need transcripts out of video files, YouTube links or PDFs, you want a browser tab rather than an app on your phone, you rely on automatic sync into Notion, Slack or Google Docs, or your team wants a shared workspace with owner and viewer roles and the per-seat bill is fine.

Switch to Noter AI if your meetings mix two languages, you record in rooms as often as on calls, you want the same recording as minutes, an email and a to-do list without re-recording it, or you are on Webex.
