Recording and processing

The meeting bot did not join my meeting. What happened?

In most cases the host's settings kept it out. The bot joins Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Webex as a guest, so the host's rules for guests apply to it.

Waiting room or lobby. The host has to admit the bot, like any other guest. If nobody admits it, it leaves after 5 minutes.

Only signed-in users can join. The bot has no account on that platform, so it is refused. Ask the host to allow guests for this meeting.

Guests are blocked by the organisation. Only that organisation's admin can change this. Record the call on your phone instead.

The bot is part of the paid plan. On the free plan you can record on your phone.

My recording is stuck on "Transcribing". What do I do?

Most of the time the audio has not reached our servers yet. Your recording is saved on your phone, so it is not lost.

The usual cause is the network. A VPN, a firewall or a weak connection can block the upload. Turn off the VPN, connect to a stable Wi-Fi network and keep the app open. The upload picks up where it stopped.

When the upload is done, a one-hour recording takes about 2 minutes to become a note. If nothing changes on good Wi-Fi, write to support@noterai.net and tell us your device and the date of the recording.

What are Unsent Recordings, and how does the app repair them?

Unsent Recordings is a screen in the iPhone and iPad app. It lists recordings that are still on your device but never became a note. This can happen when the app closes or the device turns off during a recording.

When the app finds one, it shows a banner with a Review button. While any are waiting, Settings also shows Unsent Recordings under Support. For each recording you can play it, process it into a note, save or share the audio, or delete it.

A recording that was cut off shows Needs repair. Tap Repair and process. The app uploads the audio, our server rebuilds the damaged file, and the note appears in your notes list. If a short part could not be saved, the rest is still included. You need to be signed in, and long recordings can take a few minutes, so keep the app open.

How long does it take to get my note?

About 2 minutes for a one-hour recording, after the upload is done.

The wait has three parts: the upload, the transcript, and then the summary and action items. A slow connection makes the upload part longer. After a bot meeting, processing starts when the call ends.

On iPhone, the Dynamic Island and the Live Activity show the status while you wait. One recording can be up to 3 hours long. If a note takes much longer than this, see the answer about recordings stuck on "Transcribing" above.

Plans and payments

How do I cancel my subscription?

Cancel in the place where you paid. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.

  • iPhone or iPad

Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Pick Noter AI and tap Cancel Subscription.

  • Android

Open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Pick Noter AI and tap Cancel subscription.

  • Web

Sign in at app.noterai.net, open your account page and tap Manage plan.

After you cancel, you keep the paid plan until the end of the time you already paid for. Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases come from Apple or Google. Our refund policy explains web purchases.

What can I do on the free plan?

In the iPhone, iPad and Android apps, the free plan lets you record and get a note with a transcript and a summary. Each free recording stops by itself at 5 minutes. The meeting bot is for subscribers.

On the web, a free account gets 3 notes a day, up to 5 minutes each. It is only for accounts that sign in with Google or Apple.

The paid plan removes the 5-minute limit, so one recording can run up to 3 hours. In the apps it costs $11.99 a month, $89.99 a year or $5.99 a week, and every subscription starts with a free trial. On the web it costs $11.99 a month or $89.99 a year, with no weekly plan and no trial.

What the app can do

Which languages work? Can one meeting mix two languages?

Transcription works in 60+ languages, and the app detects the language by itself. You do not pick a language before you record.

Meetings where people switch language also work, even inside one sentence, for example Arabic and English. Each part is written in its own language and script.

On iPhone and iPad, a transcript can be translated into 46 languages, and the speaker labels and timestamps stay. The summary comes in the meeting's language, or in a language you choose.

Accuracy depends on the audio. A quiet room and one person speaking at a time give the best result.

How do I export a note?

Open the note and choose how it goes out. You can export it as a PDF, a Word file (.docx) or plain text.

You can also copy the note with its headings and bullet points and paste it into an email or a document, or send it to another app through the share sheet. On Android, a Word file is saved to Downloads, and a PDF opens the share menu.

Before you export, you can pick an output style, such as meeting minutes, key points, an email or a to-do list. You can also edit the summary, so fix names and numbers before the note leaves the app.

Can Noter AI record phone calls?

No. Noter AI does not record phone calls. On iPhone, iOS does not give apps like Noter AI access to call audio.

If the call is on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Webex, send the bot and it records the call for you.

If your phone can record calls itself (iPhone with iOS 18.1 or later, or many Android phones), record the call there and import the audio file into Noter AI.

Otherwise, put the call on speaker and record it with Noter AI on a second phone or an iPad placed close by. Speakerphone audio is harder to transcribe, so check names and numbers afterwards. Many countries have strict consent rules for recording calls, so tell the other person first.

Is there a Mac or Windows app?

No. There is no Mac or Windows desktop app. On a computer, use the web app at app.noterai.net in your browser.

Sign in with the same account you use on your phone, and your notes are there, with the summary, analysis and transcript. You can also record, upload audio and ask questions about your notes. Your plan works there too.

For an online meeting you join from your computer, send the bot from the app on your phone or tablet. It joins Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Webex, and the note shows up on every device.

Your account and data

How do I delete my account and my data?

You can delete a single note at any time. This deletes the note, its transcript and its audio.

To delete your account, open the Profile or account screen in the app and choose Delete Account. Depending on your app version, some data, such as chat history, may not be erased by this step.

To be sure everything is erased, email support@noterai.net from the address linked to your account. We then erase your recordings, transcripts, summaries, chat history and subscription profile from our active systems. Deleted data leaves our backups within about 100 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. Cancel it first.
