What Happy Scribe costs in 2026

Happy Scribe prices every plan by minutes. One pool of minutes a month covers AI transcription, subtitles and translation together.

Basic is $17 a month, or $8.50 a month billed yearly ($102 a year). It includes 120 minutes a month, and each recording can be up to 90 minutes long. Pro is $29 a month, or $19 a month billed yearly ($228 a year), with 600 minutes and 3 seats. Business is $89 a month, or $59 a month billed yearly ($708 a year), with 6,000 minutes and 5 seats. Extra seats cost $19 to $29 a month, and extra minutes cost $0.20 each on any paid plan.

The free plan is a 10-minute trial of AI transcription, subtitles and translation. It can record meetings, up to 45 minutes each, and its AI chat covers 3 files a month.

Noter AI is $9.99 a month or $69.99 a year. That one plan includes every feature. There is no minute count and no per-seat fee. Paying yearly, it costs about $32 less than Happy Scribe Basic and about $158 less than Pro.

The minute meter, counted in meetings

Minutes are hard to judge. Hours are easier. Pro's 600 minutes is 10 hours of audio a month, and Basic's 120 minutes is 2 hours.

Take a manager with one hour of meetings each working day. Over 20 working days that is 20 hours, twice what Pro includes. The 10 extra hours are 600 minutes at $0.20, so the month costs $29 plus $120 in top-ups, or $149. On Basic, the same month would use up the plan in the first two days.

Every hour over the plan costs $12. A two-hour workshop that pushes you past the line adds $24 to the bill. An 8-hour conference day adds $96.

Quiet months do not balance busy ones. On monthly billing, unused plan minutes reset at the end of each billing cycle. Minutes you buy as a top-up stay, but the ones included in the plan are gone.

Noter AI has no meter to watch. A three-hour board meeting and a five-minute voice memo cost the same, which is nothing beyond the $69.99 a year. You can record every call in the month and never check a balance.

What Happy Scribe actually is

Happy Scribe is a transcription service run by Happy Scribe Spain S.L. It sells AI transcription, subtitles, translation and an AI meeting notetaker to teams such as newsrooms, law firms, researchers, universities and sales teams. Its homepage says 41,000+ teams use it.

Happy Scribe runs in a web browser, with apps for iPhone and Android. For online calls, a meeting bot joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams from a Google or Outlook calendar. You can also record without a bot, in the browser or on a phone, for interviews, conferences and lectures.

Transcripts come with speaker labels, smart summaries, custom templates and an AI chat. A feature called Action Notes pulls out follow-ups, tasks and deadlines. Basic exports SRT, TXT, DOCX and PDF files. Pro and Business add VTT, JSON, CSV, XML and several video-editor formats.

Happy Scribe's homepage says it transcribes in 150+ languages, and it translates into 65+. It makes subtitles as SRT or VTT files or burns them into the video. For a transcript checked by a person, human transcription starts at $2.00 a minute in 70+ languages, with a 24 to 48 hour turnaround.

The phone apps are new. The iPhone app, "HappyScribe: Audio to Text", is at version 1.1.0 and has a 2.7 rating from 3 ratings on the App Store. The Android app, "HappyScribe: AI Notetaker", needs Android 13 or later and shows 10K+ downloads with no rating. A Mac desktop app is listed as coming soon.

On speed, Happy Scribe's help centre says processing usually takes half the length of the audio. A one-hour meeting waits about 30 minutes for its transcript.
