How much Otter.ai costs in 2026, and what you get for the money

All prices are in US dollars and all of them are per user. The annual prices are shown on Otter's page as a monthly figure, but you pay for the whole year in one charge. The yearly totals below come from Otter's App Store listing.

• Monthly billing costs more over a year. Pro billed monthly comes to $203.88 a year, about double the $99.99 annual plan. Business billed monthly is $360 a year, $120 more than the $239.99 annual plan.
• The six languages are the same on every plan. Otter lists English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese. Paying more does not add a seventh.
• Enterprise has no public price. The button says Schedule a demo. Meetings are unlimited, with the same 4-hour limit per meeting as Business.
• Lower prices on the page are regional. Otter's pricing page can show promotional prices that only work with a card issued in one country. The prices in this table are the standard ones.

What the minute limits mean in real meetings

Minutes are hard to picture. Hours are easier. Basic's 300 minutes a month is 5 hours, a little over one hour of meetings a week. Pro's 1,200 minutes is 20 hours a month, about 5 hours a week. Business has no monthly minute limit.

The limit per meeting matters as much as the monthly one. On Basic a conversation can run 30 minutes, so a standard 45-minute call is already over the line. On Pro the limit is 90 minutes, which covers most calls. A 2-hour workshop or a half-day planning session is over Pro's limit, and the plan that fits it is Business, with up to 4 hours per meeting.

Here is a normal week for a team lead we will call Sara. She has 6 hours of meetings:

1. 1Monday: a 1-hour team call.

3. 3Wednesday to Friday: three 1-hour client calls.
4. 4That is 6 hours a week, or about 24 hours in a 4-week month. In minutes, 1,440.
5. 5On Basic, every one of her meetings is longer than the 30-minute limit, and 5 hours a month does not cover even one of her weeks.
6. 6On Pro, the 1,200 minutes run out during the fourth week, 4 hours short. The 2-hour workshop is also over Pro's 90-minute limit every single week.
7. 7So the Otter plan that covers Sara's week is Business: $239.99 a year, or $360 a year if she pays monthly.

What 'per user' means on the bill

Otter's help centre puts it simply: one seat is used by one user. Each person who needs their own account needs their own seat, and each seat is charged at the full plan price.

For a team, the numbers climb fast. Five people on Business, billed annually, pay 5 × $239.99 = $1,199.95 a year. The same five people on Business billed monthly pay $150 a month, which is $1,800 a year. Five people on Pro, billed annually, pay $499.95.

Adding someone halfway through the billing period also costs money. Otter charges extra invitees pro-rata, meaning a share of the seat price for the time left in the period. If you plan to grow the team during the year, add those seats to your budget now.

Flat-priced apps skip this sum. Noter AI has one plan at $69.99 a year with no seat fees, so one person can record every meeting the team holds and send the notes on as a PDF or Word file.

Free trial, cancelling and refunds

Read this part before you enter a card number. Otter's own help pages and terms set these rules.

• The Business trial needs a credit card. Otter says you are not charged during the trial. Note the end date so you decide before it runs out.
• Subscriptions are non-refundable. Otter's terms of service say all fees are in US dollars and non-refundable. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not return money for the current period.
• Cancel at least 24 hours before the next billing date. Cancel later than that and the next charge can still go through.
• App Store and Google Play purchases follow Apple's and Google's rules. If you subscribed inside the iPhone or Android app, you cancel and ask for any refund through Apple or Google, not through Otter.

How Otter's prices have changed

Otter has changed its plans twice in ways that matter for your budget. Both changes are on record in Otter's blog and in archived copies of its pricing page.

• 27 September 2022, Pro. The monthly price rose from $12.99 to $16.99, and the monthly minutes fell from 6,000 to 1,200. That is 80% fewer minutes for $4 more a month. Pro has stayed at $16.99, or $8.33 billed annually, with 1,200 minutes and 90 minutes per meeting since then.
• December 2025, Business. The annual price moved from $20 to $19.99 per user per month. The monthly allowance went from 6,000 minutes per user to unlimited.

Otter.ai vs Noter AI on price

For one person, Noter AI costs $69.99 a year, or $9.99 a month. Against Otter Pro billed annually, that saves $30 a year. Against Business, the plan Sara needed for her 6-hour week, it saves $170 a year. There is no minute counter and no per-meeting cap on recordings, so a 2-hour workshop costs the same as a 10-minute call. Summaries and action items have no cap, and there are no AI credits to track.

Language is the bigger gap for many teams. Otter transcribes six languages. • You would otherwise need Otter Business. Meetings over 90 minutes, or more than 20 hours a month, push you to $239.99 a year on Otter. Noter AI covers both for $69.99.
• Your team is small and pays per seat. Five Otter Business seats cost $1,199.95 a year. One Noter AI plan can record the whole team's meetings.
• You meet in a language Otter does not list. Noter AI covers 60+ languages, detected automatically, including meetings that mix two.
• Most of your meetings happen away from a desk. Noter AI records from the phone in one tap and also sends a bot to your video calls.
• Stay on Otter if your whole team already works inside Otter's shared workspace on desktop.
